FIRST CARIBBEAN
DOCUMENT STORAGE BUILDING
Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands, British West Indies |
This 465 m2 (5,000 sq.ft.)
facility is to provide high level security storage for all forms of bank
records. The reinforced concrete structure can withstand a category 5
hurricane and has a floor elevation above the 100 year storm surge.
Temperature and humidy control as well as electronic monitoring are ensured
in all circumstances by a back-up generator which is housed in a separate
secure room along with its fuel source.

EXTERIOR |

SITE PLAN |
|
The perimeter fencing
is a combination of local stonework and wolmanized lumber and open galvanized
fencing between. Inside the fence is a five foot wide planting strip of local
cacti and thorny shrubs. These provide green, flowers and a natural deterrent
for the curious. Inside the planting strip is 3 m (10 ft) of asphalt paving to
allow police and private security vehicles to drive around the building.
The inside of the
structure has a sealed Loading Room, several different sized storage rooms
and vaults, a document viewing room for approved visitors and staff support
spaces.
