ST. ANDREW'S UNITED CHURCH

| The project began with a thorough examination of the church's
mandate, expected programs and an inventory of existing spaces. Priorities
were set and elements assigned to future phases. The end result is indicated
below. |

| To an existing 1,200 m2 (13,000 sq.ft.) church were added a 240 m2 (2,600
sq.ft.) office, 130 m2 (1,375 sq.ft.) kitchen and 116 m2 (1,250 sq.ft.) of
lower level classrooms and service space. |

In addition to adding space, the design improves internal circulation.
It allows for the Gym/Hall to be used without access to the remainder of the
building.
The inclusion of the handicapped lift will make the entire building
accessible.
The Sanctuary platform and seating was redesigned to add flexibility and
worship service options
The exterior was upgraded with stonework and sculpture to reflect current
design standards. |
